Step 1 – Since trailing varieties
need the room to hang downwards, it is best not to place these
in the same containers as the upright varieties. Plant one
tuber per 8 inch container or two tubers per 12-14 inch
container. Pots must have drainage holes. Plant rounded
side down with concave side up. The roots will also be on the
bottom side. If planting the upright varieties into the garden
itself, wait until the threat of frost is over. The trailing
varieties need to trail downwards and should not be planted
into the garden.
Step 2 - Cover the top of bulbs with only _
to _ inches of soil. Partial sun is best.
Step 3 - Water the plants thoroughly. Keep
moist but not soggy.
Step 4 - In pots, move plants outside in
partial sun when evening temperatures stay above 45 degrees
Fahrenheit.
Step 5 - Planted now each tuber will
produce magnificent, ostentatious flowers up to 6-8 inches
across in about ten -twelve weeks and all summer long year
after year!
