Step 1
Be careful of the prickly areas near the leaf nodes by using garden gloves. It isn’t called the Touch Me Not Plant for nothing! Unpack your plants immediately removing any packing material. Water thoroughly. Cut away any yellow or brown leaves or broken stems that may have occurred. This grooming is completely normal.
Step 2
Transplant into larger 6 inch containers separately or together in larger containers. Water again. Keep moist, repeating 2 times a week all summer. Keep moist year round by using a tray underneath pots to catch water.
Step 3
You may leave plants indoors year round or place plants outside as long as evening temperatures stay above 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Plants prefer full sun or half day of sun.
Step 4
These plants respond to regular monthly fertilizing with a high bloom houseplant food.
Step 5
If you get up in the morning and the leaves are shriveled it is normal. The leaves close at night naturally or when you touch them in the daytime.
