NATURE ATTRACTION – A perfumed fragrance that tantalizes the senses will occur with this 2 pc. Giant ‘Royal Star’ Jasmine. It’s delicate and delicious aroma will allure you year round with large angel wing like flowers.  Jasmine is known for its sweet soft fragrance world wide.
KEY TIPS – Place outside in summer. It is classified as a rambling plant that can be grown with or without support of a trellis or such. It also has lush dark green foliage with a bushy growth habit.
It’s is perfect for a windowsill in a small container or a summertime deck or patio in a larger one.
SHELF LIFE – Water the plants thoroughly letting the excess water drain through the bottom of the pot(s). Transplant into larger 6-8 inch containers separately or together in even a larger container.
PLANT Preparation- Cut away any yellow or brown leaves or broken stems that may have occurred.  This grooming is completely normal and will take place as the plant grows.
POTTED PLANTS- Repot the plants into larger 6-8 inch pots separately or together inside one larger container. You can transplant one pot size per year in spring or summer up to a 12 inch container.
Soil- They prefer bagged potting mixes for houseplants that will drain well.  Most garden centers carry various brand names with perlite, vermiculite, soil and sand.
GARDEN PREPARATION – If you live where it rarely dips below 45 degrees, they may be planted directly into the garden. If your soil is clayish amend it with a standard garden soil for adequate drainage.
PLANTING SPACING – If planting in garden or together in one container space 12 -18 inches apart.
PLANT HEIGHT – These will grow 2-3 feet in about 12-24 months.
Water- Water the plants thoroughly letting the excess water drain through the bottom of the pot. Be sure to keep excess water out of any saucer underneath pot. Keep moist, especially during the spring and summer repeating twice a week all summer long. Water once a week or less in winter.
FERTILIZER- To promote more flowers use a well balanced fertilizer like Roberta’s Flower Magic Plant Food (M7503) once a week all April through October. They enjoy leaf feeding as often as you like.
LIGHTING- Full sun is best. Otherwise a half a day of sun is sufficient.
Blooming – These will bloom periodically year round! Heavier blooming occurs from late spring throughout mid-summer every year while in active growth. They continue to bloom and grow year round.
TEMPERATURE ZONE 9 to 11- When nights stay above 55 degrees place your plants outside and leave them there all summer long- the hotter the better. The point is they like a change in day to night temperatures to grow and bloom properly. When temperatures drop below 45 degrees in the autumn, bring your plants inside. If you live where nights rarely drop below 45 degrees, you can leave your plants outside year round.
WINTER CARE – Plants slow down a little from November through April. They may drop some foliage though not much. Place in a bright-lighted room or sunny window and reduce watering to once a week.
SUPPORT – It is classified as a rambling plant that can be grown with or without support of a trellis or such.
PRUNING –The best time to prune is early summer during active growth period. Pruning need not occur but does encourage branching. New growth will then flower.
GROOMING- Remove spent flowers. In addition, cut away any yellow, brown leaves or broken stems that naturally occur. Monthly misting with a solution of soapy water will insure glossy pest free leaves. Mix ½ teaspoon of standard liquid dish soap in a quart spray bottle of water, shake, and mist the plant profusely.
CUT FLOWERS – They make excellent picked flowers floated in water. as the plant grows.  New leaves and stems appear as the old ones are pruned away!
