Step 1 – Each bag contains 2 bare root plants. Remove each bare root from the plastic bags. Cut away any yellow or brown leaves that may have occurred. Be careful of the prickly areas near the crown of plant. Fruit-bearing portion of cane is spineless.
Step 2 – Plant in garden spacing about 3-6 feet plus. Dig holes twice the width of the root ball and deep enough to accommodate the roots. Place them in their holes. Pack soil firmly around crown. Full sun or partial sun is needed.
Step 3 - Water them thoroughly. Keep moist in summer for more growth.
Step 4 – Planted now each bare root may produce a small crop late fall. However most will produce fruit from mid-summer to fall starting with the 2nd season
Step 5 –They are hardy in the winter to a minus 30 degrees below 0!
