NATURE ATTRACTION – Each one produces leaves with toothed or
sharply lobed margins with a warty surface that is enchanting to touch.
KEY TIPS – Cut away any yellow or brown leaves or broken stems
that occur as the plants grow and mature. This grooming is completely
normal and will take place as the plant grows. New leaves and stems
appear as the old ones are cut away. They do not like their leaves misted
with water. When watering the soil, shake off excess water that puddles
on the leaves.
SHELF LIFE – Water the plants thoroughly letting the excess water
drain through the bottom of the pot(s). Transplant into larger 6-8 inch
containers separately or together in even a larger container.
PLANT PREPARATION- Cut away any yellow or brown leaves or broken
stems that may have occurred. This grooming is completely normal
and will take place as the plant grows.
POTTED PLANTS- Repot the plants into larger 6-8 inch pots separately
or together inside one larger container.
SOIL- They prefer bagged potting mixes for houseplants that will
drain well. Most garden centers carry various brand names with perlite,
vermiculite, soil and sand.
GARDEN PREPARATION – If you live where it rarely dips below 50
degrees, they may be planted directly into the garden. If your soil is
clayish amend it with a standard garden soil for adequate drainage.
PLANTING SPACING – If planting in garden or together in one container
space 12-18 inches apart.
PLANT HEIGHT – These will grow 8-12 inches.
WATER- Water the plants thoroughly letting the excess water drain
through the bottom of the pot. Be sure to keep excess water out of
any saucer underneath pot. Keep evenly moist year round.
FERTILIZER- To promote more leaves use a well balanced fertilizer
like Roberta’s Flower Magic Plant Food (M7503) once a month year
round. Dilute fertilizer and water into soil rather than mist their foliage.
LIGHTING- Bright Light or shade is best. Direct sun will burn their
foliage.
BLOOMING – They do bloom sporadically throughout the year with
inconspicuous pink or white flowers.
TEMPERATURE ZONE 10 to 11- These are hardy down to about 50
degrees Farenheit without damaging the plant. If you live where it
rarely dips below 50 degrees, they may remain outside year round.
WINTER DORMANCY – Plants may drop some foliage though not
much. Place in a bright-lighted room that stays above 50 degrees.
GROOMING- Cut away any yellow or brown leaves or broken stems
that occur as the plants grow and mature. This grooming is completely
normal and will take place as the plant grows. New leaves and stems
